JOB DESCRIPTION
- JOB TITLE: Equipment Maintenance Technician
- Minimum Required Qualifications:
- Must have proficient communications skills both verbal and written.
- Must have proficient math skills.
- Must have proficient analytical skills.
- Must have proficient problem solving skills.
- Able to use volt meter to check AC/DC voltage
- Strong troubleshooting skills in both mechanical and electrical.
- Strong understanding of Pneumatics-solenoid valves, actuators and controls.
- Strong understanding of hydraulic system operations
- Ability to troubleshoot electrical systems using a schematic diagram
- Able to read and interpret mechanical assembly drawings
- Understanding of PLC logic controls
- Skilled in the use of tool room machinery such as MIG and/or TIG weld, Lathes, Drill Press, Band Saw, and other metal working machinery
- Ability to drive a fork lift is required
- Must possess a valid California driver’s license and a good driving record.
- AS degree in Industrial Technologies or Trade School and
- 5+ years work experience as a maintenance technician on production manufacturing equipment.

- Duties and Responsibilities:
- Read machine assembly drawings and electrical schematics to indentify machine malfunctions in mechanical and electrical systems
- Adjust mechanical assemblies and control systems to correct machine malfunctions
- Design and fabricate metal product for production equipment.
- Work with maintenance department managers to analyze machine failures and develop plans to reduce downtime
- Analyze test results, machine error messages, and information obtained from operators in order to diagnose equipment problems.
- Observe and test the operation of machinery and equipment in order to diagnose malfunctions, using voltmeters and other testing devices.
- Examine parts for defects such as breakage and excessive wear.
- Disassemble machinery and equipment to remove parts and make repairs.
- Clean, lubricate, and adjust parts, equipment, and machinery.
- Assist in the installation new and used equipment as instructed by manager
- Upgrade existing equipment as instructed by manager
- Help in writing and revising PM checklist and procedures for assigned equipment
- Training of junior level mechanics.
- Perform preventive maintenance of equipment
- Identification of spare parts
- Documents all work performed daily.
- Submit purchase order request for parts.
- Responsible for performing other tasks as instructed by Supervisor or Manager.
- Working Conditions:
- Continual walking and standing on hard surface, climbing and descending steps.
- Continual bending, stooping, reaching, pulling, pushing and lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Exposed to cool, hot temperatures and noise.
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time
- Temperatures ranging to very warm conditions
- Loud noises generated from equipment
