JOB DESCRIPTION

  1. JOB TITLE:  Equipment Maintenance Technician
  2. Minimum Required Qualifications:
  3. Must have proficient communications skills both verbal and written.
  4. Must have proficient math skills.
  5. Must have proficient analytical skills.
  6. Must have proficient problem solving skills.
  7. Able to use volt meter to check AC/DC voltage
  8. Strong troubleshooting skills in both mechanical and electrical.
  9. Strong understanding of Pneumatics-solenoid valves, actuators and controls.
  10. Strong  understanding of hydraulic system operations
  11. Ability to troubleshoot electrical systems using a schematic diagram
  12. Able to read and interpret mechanical assembly drawings
  13. Understanding of PLC logic controls
  14. Skilled in the use of tool room machinery such as MIG and/or TIG weld, Lathes,  Drill Press, Band Saw, and other metal working machinery
  15. Ability to drive a fork lift is required
  16. Must possess a valid California driver’s license and a good driving record.
  17. AS degree in Industrial Technologies or Trade School and
  18. 5+ years work experience as a maintenance technician on production manufacturing equipment. 

 

 

  1. Method of training:  On the job training

 

    1. General Job responsibilities – orientation and review. 
    2. Review Job Description.
    3. GMP’s Good Manufacturing Practices.
    4. Specific training on how to perform job assignments.
    5. Company rules and regulations.
    6. Will receive general training and orientation that will include;

-Plant Safety and Emergency Procedures

-OSHA Required Safety Programs.

-LOTO –Lock out/Tag-out procedures

-Handling of Chemicals training.

 

 

  1. Duties and Responsibilities:

 

  1. Read machine assembly drawings and electrical schematics to indentify machine malfunctions in mechanical and electrical systems
  2. Adjust mechanical assemblies and control systems to correct machine malfunctions
  3. Design and fabricate metal product for production equipment.
  4. Work with maintenance department managers to analyze machine failures and develop plans to reduce downtime
  5. Analyze test results, machine error messages, and information obtained from operators in order to diagnose equipment problems.
  6. Observe and test the operation of machinery and equipment in order to diagnose malfunctions, using voltmeters and other testing devices.
  7. Examine parts for defects such as breakage and excessive wear.
  8. Disassemble machinery and equipment to remove parts and make repairs.
  9. Clean, lubricate, and adjust parts, equipment, and machinery.
  10. Assist in the installation new and used equipment as instructed by manager
  11. Upgrade existing equipment as instructed by manager
  12. Help in writing and revising PM checklist and procedures for assigned equipment
  13. Training of junior level mechanics.
  14. Perform preventive maintenance of equipment
  15. Identification of spare parts
  16. Documents all work performed daily.
  17. Submit purchase order request for parts.
  18. Responsible for performing other tasks as instructed by Supervisor or Manager.

 

 

  1. Working Conditions:

 

  1. Continual walking and standing on hard surface, climbing and descending steps.
  2. Continual bending, stooping, reaching, pulling, pushing and lifting up to 50 lbs.
  3. Exposed to cool, hot temperatures and noise.
  4. Must be able to stand for long periods of time
  5. Temperatures ranging to very warm conditions
  6. Loud noises generated from equipment
